Also, if SONY where to go digital distribution only, they could still build in a promotional theme right into the ISO, and have it install from there.

umd will never die, unless a new psp design will comeout that renews distribution like a cartridge base (mspro format games) but maybe that was a dumb idea anyway, lol
well the pspGO! doesn't have a umd drive... and the 1000/2000/3000s all support psn titles, it leads to believe that the physical copies of games are being phased out... but yeah, they could just put a theme into an iso file.

I don't see how themes on UMD will work.
It would just be a .ptf file on the umd, then the data would be read and either saved on MS in themes folder, or imported to Flash1 for direct application to the xmb.
Im sure in most games the Theme will be an unlockable.
Like get 1000 kills in single player campaign. Then you unlock it then you'll see download custom theme (or something like that) under the list. Then when you download it a menu pops up similar to the Internet one and it says what is says up there.
I'm just saying what I think, though I could be wrong and it could be a additional thank you for buying the game physically.

or just cheat and extract the theme from the UMD yourself lol
