The game is still under developement though and can get old fast though.

There is Air Rivals which is a game I have been trying
but that is more of a ship based dog fighting game where you can control your pilot in the off time.


and then there is s4
but that isn't really an rpg unless you count when you in lobby.
after the game starts everyone is pretty much running around shooting each other...
In the korean version there is an Arcade like rpg mode... but that has yet to come to the european version and the korean version requires you to have a KSSN


if you check out Aeria Games they have quite a few MMO RPGs that are free.

indeed, they have the rights to Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine, an online game based in between 1 and 2

Or you can just play a commercial game, but on a private server, so you don't have to pay anything.

meh, i tried a private server for world of warcraft, but i found it to be fairly unenjoyable compared to regular servers


Battlegrounds were dead so no PvP, instance groups were hard to find so no PvE, not enough players to generate a good economy in the auction house, and the instant level 80 ones / constant 2/3/4/5 x exp just made questing redundant, as your better off just grinding for short periods

Admittedly that was just one game, but still, it was a variety of servers, and its my 2c so i thought i'd add it

theres always Evony! it's a age of empires like game that requires real time complete stuff.
