Well, truly.. I love anime. I love the entire setting. I also like to a variety of genre. But it seemed to me that of late, either by chance or the fact that this is how it is, most popular anime are about school girls and boys. Now that isn't a bad thing. Especially considering who the major target audience is. But that also made get supremely bored of it all. Yes, ef is very (actually, epically) awesome. Yes Clannad is very entertaining. Yes, Hyakko was refreshing. Yes, Luck Star is hilarious. Yes, Asura Cryin' was decent... but still!!
You get my point...
The thing is that despite the awesome story lines and characters and design and all, I really am saturated with the whole harem, slice of life, school life anime.
So, naturally, I turned to the other genre. There is a lot of fish in the anime-sea. I was bound to catch something watchable (I'm very picky and choosy). I considered returning to Ruroni Kenshin, but dropped it. Inu Yasha again has school girls >_> (ok.. yeah... it DRAGS!!), Naruto and Bleach are unwatchable now. One Piece sucks.
I watched quite a few contemporary anime: Sword of the Stranger (watched again), Blade of the Immortal (I really liked this!), Sengoku Basara (just started), Casshern Sins (*awesome* concept), Eden of East (okay-ish), Phantom ~Requiem of the Phantom~ (nice), re-visited Wolf's Rain (*tears*), Darker Than Black (SEASON 2!! woohoo!) Black Cat and some other new and old series...
However... I decided a couple of days back that I'll watch GITS the Movie. The first GITS that came to be back in 1995. I had seen Innocence, SAC 1 and Laughing Man and truly loved them. However.... this movie changed my perspective of the Series... for awesome, it has been elevated to OMGAWSOME! So much so that I have begun dling all the episodes and seasons of this amazing series.
Truly I feel refreshed about watching anime again!
