Hi I kind of have a unique situation that I hope someone can help me with. I currently own two psp's. One is a U.S. TA-081 and the other is a Japanese TA-082. My U.S. TA-081 has the firmware 3.90 M-33 and the Japanese TA-082 has the firmware 3.40 OE-A. I modded 3 files in the TA-082 to fix the screen brightness bug in the firmware 3.40 OE-A. I backed up both flash0's for both psp's but I can't find both of them. I found one of them but I don't recognize which flash0 it belongs to. I have three questions that I need answered. Is there some easy way to recognize which flash0 it belongs to? Could I use the flash0 on either psp? If not what would you recommend doing? I need to know this information so I can downgrade/upgrade each psp. I plan on selling one of them on ebay so I need to know what to do so I can get them ready. Thanks for the help.
I believe I figured out how to identify which flash0 it belongs to. It's in the vsh folder, etc folder, and then the text file named version. I don't think I need any help anymore but If someone can verify this is how to identify them please do so. If not I'll probably go ahead and start anyway because I'm almost 100 percent sure that I identified the correct flash0 for both psp's. Thanks for the help.
That should be okay.  You can also check the files against clean firmware dumps to see which one matches what (you can check with file hashing tools like HashMyFiles).

Next time remember to label things appropriately :P
why bother with the backups?  Just update to 5.00m33 and you will be all good.  All files will be overwrote with the new ones.
