Google's not a program. It's a search engine.

And how exactly are you searching? All I had to do to find a hundreds of hits for this was type 'tutorial partition hard drive' into Google.
I've seen you say that about Google before which only leads me to believe that you aren't using your head when you search.
Please try to refrain from creating so many help threads, this isn't a help forum. It takes less effort to use Google than it does to post a thread here.

i bumped into a "how to use google" thread on some other newbie forum, and despite how retarded it sounds, it really does help to read it in full and make sure you understand it.
give me a sec, ill link it.

if you need a guide to use google, nevermind lets not go there....

lmao i know, sorry - but really, i don't know how to explain it. I'm not generally retarded, but it took me a long time to wrap my head around how the internet (or google) decides to catalogue things, and not understanding that stuff can really lead to you just butting your head against too much information for it to be useful.
well, really it took me a long time to wrap my head around how a computer thinks in general... i kind of attribute it to only owning my own computer for about two years...
but yeah, my point is just repeating "USE GOOGLE USE GOOGLE USE GOOGLE" is less productive than trying to help a person understand how it all interacts. and then if amzter doesn't show an improved understanding, i would attribute it to laziness.
my 2 cents.
edit: this isn't the one i was thinking of, but it should help

really, all you should need is the cheat shit, and keep in the back of your head as you're searching what perspective you're looking for.
if you're looking for a tutorial on how to create a new partition on your HDD so you can install linux, think in terms like this: "if some dude out there somewhere made a tutorial on how to do this, what would he have named it?"
and keep in mind that your direct question will most likely be related to some other sort of question. if you can't find out how to make a new partition because you're searching "need a partition lol" try searching for a general "how do i install linux?" guide. your answer would definitely be contained in a guide of how to install linux, right?
most importantly, rely on your brain.

I just don't see what there is to understand about using a search engine.
If you were looking for instructions on how to make waffles, you could search for 'instructions make waffles' or 'waffle recipe.' All you have to do is to plug in key words for what you are looking for. Point in case 'tutorial partition hard drive' got the exact information that Amzter was looking for.
What is there to understand? That is why when questions like this are asked, the answer 'Google it' is given so often.
I'm more than willing to help people if they are looking for some very in-depth knowledge that would be hard to define as a simple string of text that you could plug into a search engine, but I have no tolerance for spoon feeding.
