Meh, if 24 is that much, there's obviously no disincentive to pirate more.

I wonder how she got caught........   how did they track her down? etc etc..  anyone got info on that?

Scraping her IP address off a torrent tracker... probably.

That's one of the reasons why private trackers exist, for the privacy.  But then again, it really wouldn't be all that hard for an RIAA member to get themselves access to the private trackers, seeing as how you and I can do it.

Psyko12 Wrote: [ -> ]Psyko has 822 songs in his library. All pirated. Compared to you people with horribly large collections, I'd still be fined 65,760,000 for all that.
Let's not forget the movies too, so let's multiply 80k by a random number and... Psyko has a total debt of 102 shizillions!

I have like 60GB of music.  Like 400GB+ of movies (including some TV series), 600GB+ of anime, like 300GB of games (including VNs and ROMs and other shit), around 50GB of software.  That adds up to like 1.4TB.  All pirated.

Lets assume (unrealistically) that the fine scales linearly according to size (meaning, twice the file size = twice the fine)...  lets also assume the songs she downloaded were 5MB each, so that makes 5x24=120MB she downloaded.

Then I would be fined...

(1.4 * 1024 * 1024) * (1.9 / 120) = 23243.43466666... Million.

That's about 23.24 Billion.  hey, if I were in the top 10 rich list in the world, I'd be able to afford it.
