Well I got the most stuff by now but there is still a bit stuff I want to know.

Firstly, do the fans of the PS3 sometimes spin when it's in off? I heard a weak noise once coming out of it when it was off (LED red)

Secondly, I heard there are several PS3 specific Linux Distros out that can be installed without formatting the HDD, is this true? I can't seem to find any....

And Finally, how does this "Turn on by RemotePlay" work?

When I select Remote Play on my PS3 first it works like a charm with my PSP, then I set the option that the PS3 can be turned on by Remote Play and turned it off. Now my PSP always said "The PS3 system cannot be found. Ensure that Remote Play is selected on the PS3"
However both WLAN LEDs light up and blink. Might it be because of UPnP not working on my PS3?

Thanks for any help in advance Gongxi
1. the fan will stay on if you choose "turn on with remoteplay" and the light will go red, that is the only time i think that happens, it won't produce any heat at all so it will stay at close to idle fan speed
2. no, you need to get the partition
3. it means you can turn your ps3 on with your psp anywhere in the world
for remote play you must be set to automagically log on with your account on ps3....its very very very flaky :(  i have lost many hours being frustrated by it :(

As for linux on ps3...your google skills must suck!  LOL

Helloooooo emulators!  Which is most of the reason no one needs to hack the ps3 to run homebrew because any linux app can run on it :P  I still havent tried that yet though...and then i was wondering how well Windows would run using VirtualBox or VmWare in linux!  LOL

You can download the Karmic Koala build of Ubuntu 9.10 here :D

Thanks for the list!
i gather theres other restrictions - like you can't play copyrighted content, like dvd's (legit ones), blu rays etc. not sure about blu ray games. and some of the menus (obviously) can't be accessed as it would cause a problem with the remote connection.
