Hi all,

Welcome to DaedalusX64.com Newsletter edition 1.

First of all I'd like to apologise to those who haven't recieved their
account activation email, as a precautionary measure. I have made it so
that wee admin have to activate user accounts (which sucks as wee have to
shoot spambots). All previous accounts have now been activated and you may
sign in.

Secondly, I'd like to talk about upcoming Daedalus releases.

Beta 3 is going to be big but wee might not fit all these features in.

1. Initalising the MediaEngine on the PSP for N64 CPU emulation, this
possibly will provide a very large speed up as wee are separating the CPU
from the rest of the emulation giving us more room to play with.
2. Moving Audio to Virtual Media Engine (maybe a later build)
3. Tidy up the graphics stuff including S2DEX, F3DEX and all others which
are playing up.
4. Support as many titles as wee possibly can. (Beta 3 may have support for
DKR and other Rare titles. Goldeneye will also take a performance hit)

Anyway there's probably a lot more I can discuss about this but wee don't
wish to go too far in depth.

Thanks for reading.

Wally
wow these guys just won't quit!  Probably one of the most heavily developed homebrew for the psp!
yeah they are the man, lol

hope that golden eye for daedalusx64 beta 3 runs full speed for my phat psp, lol
full speed on that phat? I thought that they moved they're development onto the slim because of the double onboard memory they have to work with now...And this is really insane, the amount of work and time that's been put into this project. I'm so proud of them!!
Memory shouldn't be a problem with N64, considering the biggest ROM is 64MB, and the N64 had 4MB of RAM.
Can't wait to have N64 on the go

lol i don't know that n64 console only has 4mb of ram, lol

anyway if ps1 can run in psp at full speed in my phat psp, so why not n64, lol

same reason NDS can run gameboy at full speed but not ps1 :/

Lol you can't even compare those two together but the reason is because the format is not known automatically by the system so while they already built the reader for PS1 into the PSP that isn't a problem (though POPS isn't perfect) for companies with thousands of people, but as for homebrew developers they have to make sure the PSP can recognize the ROM via the homebrew it self so that is probably what takes the rest of the PSP ram, but you know how would i know I'm just a homebrew user (and daedalus alpha tester :P)

Well, the PS1 Player was actually made by Sony. Wee as homebrew users simply found a way to unlock it so that wee can use it with our coughcoughcopiedgamescoughcough. :-D
