[Image: img_956.gif]Just tried KMPlayer after being referred to it.

I must say, it's the best video player I've seen, now.  It's basically Media Player Classic and Winamp combined into one (not too sure about how it's Winamp side works).  Also has a nice interface.

Anyone looking for a good video player - I suggest this, along with a good codec pack, such as K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, and you should have all you'll ever need for watching videos.

One note though - by default, it's Normalizer is turned on, but I found it really poo poo.  To turn it off - right-click the video, point to Audio » Normalize (actually took me a while to find, lol).  I assume ffdshow's normalizer should be better (never tried it).
cool. I'll try it out with my "Heroes" episodes. Thanks Zinga! :)
i think i will try this out, thanks Zinga! :D

I presume it uses direct show, therefore, yeah, based on what codecs u have installed.

About what containers it supports (containers meaning AVI and MP4 in ur example. they are not video types, they are containers. They merely store the video and audio data. ^.^), well, since zinga said it's good, probably everything.
Double post
I've actually got this player (the installer file) on my comp, just never tried it.
It's like MPC - it has a whole bunch of internal splitters.  However, if you disable the internal splitter, it'll use external splitters (via DirectShow).  Some people prefer Haali's Media Splitter for containers such as MKV, for example.

EDIT: A few screenshots for internal splitter/codec support/configuration:

Also, it supports Winamp plugins, meaning it can play basically anything
BUT, if it is better than MPC, then wouldn't all the codec packs be including it instead of MPC as their main video player? so I'm kinda doubting that.
Maybe cause this is a beta?  Plus it's rather new?

Also, KMP (initial install = 37.9MB; installer = 12.3MB) is a lot larger than MPC (uncompressed = 5.4MB; compressed = 1.58MB).  Could also be another reason.

I think KMP needs to be installed as well, whereas MPC doesn't.
