has this voiceover thing.. which basically speaks out track details and playlist etc...
Kinda chocolatety that you're stuck with iCrap headphones... but what I was wondering when I tried at the Apple store here is: How is the stupid thing gonna say the names of my large collection of Japanese tracks!!!!!!
Try saying this Shuffle:
Apple! Baka-yarö!
What does the voice sound like?

It takes the voice from mac/windows speech program.
Damn, was at the shops a few days ago - should've seen if the thing was annoying. Instead, I was looking at the Touch (haven't actually interacted with one before) to see why everyone wants it (turned out to be even lower than my expectations).

The Touch is such a waste of money.. >_>

Yeah, I'd rather buy a PSP for that amount. Web browser isn't as good, but hardly any access points here, plus I don't really fancy browsing the web on such a small screen. Saw the Nano too, and I really can't see what justifies its high price tag... Would rather get a cheaper iRiver E100 or something similar.
Though the iPod Shuffle has always been what most people consider Apple's worst iPod. Get a Sandisk Sansa Clip instead.

Still... if you'd go for looks and above average sound quality, you can understand why people buy iPods... I would rather get the PSP also., but mostly its of no use cause I wouldn't game on it and as I don't surf wirelessly on small screens, it would be too much of a bother to carry that huge thing around just for some Videos and what not..
i'd go for a cheaper player like the Archos (on the high end) or a cowon or an iRiver... But mostly, I'd just get a decent music phone... (like my current W350i... cheap and does everything I need it to do! LOL)
hated Shuffles from the day they were launched.
Gayest devices ever.
In fact the entire iPod range is not worth it, imo... they are overly expensive, have limited usability, support fewer formats, are tedious and overly expensive. For instance, for the price of a iPod Touch 16 GB, you can buy a XpressMusic 5800, which is a much better buy and is far more useful!
