What filesystem does a mac use anyway?
idk but i had the exact same thing with a .5tb firewire disk formatted for mac
so i gave up

control panel » administrative tools » computer management » storage » disc management
right click the drive and hit form a new partition, or whatever it was... can't remember. it's formatting now...
Lol, you didn't make a partition?  Okay...

Reminds me, some guy at my local computer store didn't know that either (I had to show him, lol)...

i don't know, it was partitioned and formatted for a mac, and worked fine with it.
i figured when i plugged it into my pc, xp would recognize it as formatted for mac or something and offer to format it for pc. instead it just did nothing :]
Oh, sorry, I misunderstood you then.  Probably Mac using a filesystem not recognized by Windows.
