Yesterday I went on an open day to Cardiff University. Underneath the students' union is a small computer shop with insanely low prices. Rather than sell brand new, top of the line stuff the sell refurbished, ex-display, end of line etc... For example, My lalptop, which would normally retail at around the £650 mark, they had a previous body-shape, almost exactly the same spec for £400.
Anyways, they had a small selection of netbooks. They of course had the staple EeePC, a Toshiba and a VAIO. The EeePC and the VAIO were just too expensive for what you get (even by their standards) leving me with the Toshiba. Until then I had never seen a netbook in the flesh and didn't believe just how small they were. I can now say I really want one simply so I can be a proper nerd and take it with me everywhere like I first did with the PSP. It would also mean i wouldn't need to buy a PMP saving me £150 or so...
Then again... I do need a car... quite badly...
