Ksoliek, my slider phone finally crapped all over itself and died, taking a year and a half worth of pictures and whatnot with it, but that's not my point.

Because of this incident, I decided to get myself a used iPhone 2G, 8GB. I'm not gonna be using it as an iPod, hence the low size. Now, for you iPhone owners, I have a question. When you are in an area with Wifi, and you're connected to a network, will the iPhone connect the calls over the Wifi, or will it still use the GSM network? Because at my house, wee have pretty crappy cell service, but amazing internet.

EDIT: Fuck, sorry, I'm really tired, hence why I posted it in Tech News, then accidentally stickied it and unstickied it before moving it to the correct spot lol. kthxbbl, sleepytiemnao.
Lol no it doesn't use wifi to send a call,

Gsm network does suck,
Get a 3g,
^^ yup what she says... but you can get skype and make calls over wifi and rumor has it that skype will work over the cell network in firmware 3.0
but will be major sucksors on a 2G only using EDGE connection. you'll sound like a robot :S all lagged out

Don't have the money for the plan right now. I'll probably get the iPhone v3.0 when they come out with it though. And GSM is fine everywhere but my house. Seriously, outside of my house, perfect reception EVERYWHERE.
