I don't know where to put this thread so here it goes

ive notice that when searching a song by Prince ( i think its the purple rain song by him) ive seen that the audio was muted so wee can't hear what the songs is about

and i alarmed when in a forum said that some of the videos with some copyrighted songs he uploaded in youtube mutes when the upload is finished.

and ive search a related info about this and found this blog..

The official notice from YouTube under the video says the following:

“This video contains an audio track that has not been authorised by all copyright holders. The audio has been disabled.”



If YouTube starts being thorough about this, you can expect to see a significant percentage of all YouTube videos muted. The implications are a bit different than with removing copyrighted professionally produced content, like an official music video; wee’re talking about tens of thousands of fan made videos, funny spoofs, remixes and the like being pretty much destroyed, and I’m guessing users will be less than thrilled about it.

is it the end for youtube users who likes to create their own vids with some copyrighted songs?

is there any other video sharing site i think Youtube will be falling down to pieces once it is fully implemented

just edit the audio a bit, and youtube probably won't detect it.

Well, at least the AMVs are not being edited, so I am not much concerned.

yeah i know its old, but im only experiencing it lately, maybe some videos do now have muted sounds, and maybe im switching to other video hosting site, lol

I really don't care, since I hardly watch stuff off youtube (due to horrible quality), and when I do, it's probably not something that will get effected by this.

I see... but then... I don't watch AMVs off youtube..

It's most likely done by humans, not an automated system...
