Yeah, too expensive. 10in netbooks are around $550-600. Cheapest 15in notebook I can find is over $800.
My 15in notebook was $300 T.T
US$1 = AU$1.56, so that'd be AU$468, which is pretty crazy even if you consider shipping costs. Makes no sense why it's so expensive here... :/
my macbook was £200 and its almost 3 year old
upgraded it to 3gb ram and 320gb hd and added leopard and ilife to the mac partition
i found they still sell with the default with tiger and the 120gb hd and 1gb ram sells for £500 i was like double you tee eff
its like a hybrid
its 13.3inch

Discount, 2nd hand, in the past, whatever. Seriously doubt you can get a decent (decent = with decent parts) new 15inch laptop for AU$468.

Thought he meant new.
As for 2nd hand, I typically find that most sellers charge far too much - like trying to sell Pentium 2's for like $400.
From link, appears to be fairly decently specc'd.
Didn't see the link. New, but I was discount though.
Anyway, 2GB celeron seems a bit weak to me, comparatively. Most 15inch laptops ship with core2 these days.

Its True
is laptops with Intel Atom processor is much better than P4 processors, or same as a core2 processors?

For the price, it's still better than most netbook deals IMO. Around that price, you typically get 8.9in screen with Atom N270 1.6GHz + 1GB RAM.

Atom is a very simple processor which doesn't perform terribly well in terms of performance. It's nowhere near the Core 2 (interestingly, Core 2 processors actually have better performance per watt than the Atom) - perhaps similar to the older Pentium 4s in terms of clock to performance ratio though I really don't know.
