Yes, this game really should've set the example for the series but not Square decided to make the other FF games without everything that made FF -1 awesome.

FF -1 was nice, but I liked FF 3.14159265 better.

I didn't find FF1 that good.

Just a lot of grind. Not particularly much story.

Spoiler for Opinon of FF1 which is not related to this thread:
On the otherhand  FF1 is my favorite, the GBA and PSP remakes force easy difficulty of the PSX version which is a poor attempt to modernise the game it takes out the grinding though.

And at least the original FF1's grinding isn't as harsh the NES FF2's grinding.
Also four mute light warriors restoring light to crystal to break a time loop is the most awesome story.
Well it's okay not to like it, it's your opinon but FF1 because it play like (well it is) an older game
