JB Hi-Fi is probably one of the few places I've seen anime DVDs being sold at - also they seem to sell them at my Uni's bookstore :O, but then, the prices are too much for me (like $36/DVD at the bookstore), and I don't really go around looking for DVDs.

yeah i can't afford one anime for a dvd, so piracy for the win, bwahahaha

I would buy them if:
- they weren't so expensive - like $1 per episode sounds more reasonable IMO; maybe $1.50 if I really like the show
- no horrible ghosting effects
- didn't have so many DVDs (c'mon, you can fit more than 3-4 episodes on a dual layer DVD)
- translated more of the signs etc - many fansubs translate a lot of the signs around the place, whereas I find the DVDs generally leave most of them out
- more bonus material? Some have a fair bit, others have basically nothing (a textless opening, maybe some design drawings, then previews for other anime)
- fansub releases have the advantage that they're easier to convert (ie watch on PSP) - I guess they can't get around this issue however

yeh true,
But for me who has slow internet and a limit on the internet
And who has limited hardrive space
can't exactly have to much anime,
So i either download them
Then burn them off onto dvds and make covers disc label ect ect
Then put them on my shelf,
Or just spend the money and support the people who make it,

yea... they can definitely have extra stuff. For instance, the Blu Ray of Advent Children will feature few extra scenes, most notably between Sephiroth and Cloud.

I traded fast internet in favor of Unlimited downloads. Now I have only 512 kbps, but no cap.
