Good stuff to know for Scrabble  :P
ive seen there's a longest (highest) word that have done in a scrabble

Quote:The highest scoring English word in the game of Scrabble is "Quartzy," at least 82 (double letter on the 'r' and connected to a 3-point word on the u,a or t) and upwards of 165 points for playing across one of the four spots for a 7-letter word to collect 2 double word scores. BUT, there are many words in scrabble (ones wee may use ourselves even) that are of non-English language origin. Here are some of those words and a range of points you might expect to get for them.

BENZOXYCAMPHORS (a chemical) can be played in a single turn (if things are just right) for a whopping 1593 points. Go to http://www.fun-with-words.com/ scrabble.html to see how that one is done.

ETHYLENEDIAMINETETRAACETATES (aka edetic acid) is the longest legal Scrabble word in North American play at 28 letters long. It's somewhat rediculous that the word is allowed since a Scrabble board is only 15 spaces wide anyway!

SESQUIOXIDIZING played on the edge of the board will give you around 1674 points, according to Wikipedia.org. That's a 15-letter word that beats BENZOXYCAMPHORS, that is if the placement is right. Don't ask me what it means though!

The highest score ever recorded at the end of a Scrabble game was 1,049. The credit for that goes to Phil Appleby, who won the game by almost 800 points. Kudos to Mr. Appleby. But, if you don't see BENZOXYCAMPHORS for example as an everyday kind of play, then you may agree with me that a different approach needs to be taken to win a scrabble game. Take a look at my article on 2-letter Scrabble words at http://www.helium.com/tm/14630 4 ...those are the real key to winning the game.

Remember it's not whether you play a 7+ letter word that matters, but whether you win or lose. Unless of course you play SESQUIOXIDIZING. Then you just win.
