Endless Paradigm

HOLY FREAKING AWESOME.

I just got a job doing product photography for my parents' friend's business. I'll be taking product photos of jewelry, and also shots of that same jewelry on a model. I'll also be redesigning this friend's website. It'll be a steady job, cause whenever she comes out with a new product, I'll go photograph it, then get it on her website. I'll be freelancing for my parents' "mother company" that covers all of my dad's businesses, and I'll be paid a steady commission for all the work I do. There aren't works to describe how good I feel right now. This is my first step towards getting my foot in the door of the professional design world! I don't know how much I'll be paid, nor do I care. All I care is that I'll be getting some real professional photography experience under my belt.

Plus, my dad is helping me buy this vintage macro lens I've been wanting :)

Nothing beats getting paid to do what you enjoy!!! Believe me...I've tried it both ways ;)  And now I enjoy my job so much I don't even think about the 1-3 hour commute to go 50 miles EACH WAY!  

Keep it up...your entering a field that will get you places by word of mouth...next thing you know you will be getting asked to take wedding photos :O  That's got some goooood money!!

Wow, Schmilk. That's one hell of a commute. Well, I might have to go to California when I do the job, but I love going back there, so it should be fun.

And if I could do weddings, that would be awesome.

Not like it's that fancy of a lens, it's a $50 FD mount manual focus macro lens, plus a $25 adapter. I wanted to try some vintage lenses, and that one really caught my eye :)
