Sometimes, it can have to do with your memory card itself...
Some memory cards are just terribly slow.

There is a great ms diagnostic toll, called Blackspeed V2.
It will test read/write speed of your memory stick.

need for speed undercover still takes forever to load at initial start :(  Oh well...after that its all good.

no fair as the slim has umd cache giving faster loading times anyhow
