I need someplace to host a band's website for free. I'm not worried about domains etc... but i need at least 10gb of storage, as much bandwidth as possible and I need to be able to store MP3's.

I've tried various promising looking ones like Quotaless, 8TT but they're either down or not sending me confirmation emails.

Anyone?
pretty sure your search criteria is flawed...

Code:
good + free = unable to divide by 0

makes sense. I did use 8TT until they got shut down. they gave you 20Gb of storage + 10Gb of bandwidth. the only problem i had with them was the fact that their servers were a little on the slow side.
I use hostrator for mine, they offer 5GB bandwidth and 10GB hdd....

What's yer band called? I haven't done anything for a couple o weeks with mine....
ermmmmmm yeh free hosts are poo poo but hey they are free!

Well yeah but as your account gets going, they close it down for the most bullchocolate reasons.

^free, no ads, 100GB bandwidth, but only has 5 GB of storage
buy a NAS and host yourself.
10GB is hard.  And even if they quote it, check the ToS - they'll typically have something saying that the service is explicitly not for file storage - only for storing content critical for the website (ie HTML pages and images), which basically means you'll never use the space anyway.
Even paid hosts do this, so be careful.  They enforce it by checking your space usage (ie, if you're using above 2GB, chances are that you're not storing just HTML pages and images - they'll search for large files and send you a notice to remove them).

But is the 10GB used to store MP3s?  (that's a lot of MP3s, especially for just one band...)  Would you be able to consider using a more efficient audio compression format?

The band is called One Of Us Is Dead. I'm not technically in the band, I'm just the tech guy. I'm trying to put together a ghetto studio to record an album for them.

I live in the UK where no one has a decent interweb connection. not even school.

Maybe 10gb  is asking a bit too much. But i'd like to use MP3 simply because anyone/anything can play it. They needn't be high bitrate otherwise people wouldn't buy cd's.

Thank you all, I'll have a look into your suggestions now.
