It's not whether you ever lied or not. It's that, to put it bluntly, your proof is poo poo.

Firstly, that page doesn't exist, so regardless of whether your internet worked or not, it will show that same result. [EDIT: That's not the case. My bad].

Secondly, even if the page worked, it does not prove that your internet is free. It only really proves that you can load a page.

lol it is true isn't it? It didn't work for me :P

The lie thing was meant funny, but anyways atleast at my PC, it will show "Cannot find server" if I'm truly disconnected from the net. Error 404 means something cannot be found ON a server itself :P
