i need a decent replacement for wmp hoping for one with the minimize to startbar option with controls

also getting me a sandisk sansa fuze 8gb around same size as a nano but with an sdhc slot :D :D
also plays aac,wma,mp3,ogg,flac and other plus some video

only problem it can read 4000 songs (new firmware update will fix it)

but on the plus side means i just have around 20gb in just over 3000 songs on my external meaning i don't need to convert and copy them over HQ
music: winamp & foobar
video: VLC and smplayer

but for music winamp is the way to go.. best around.

also use the classic skin for winamp.. its old school but I love it.. if you want something more "eyecandy"-ish try the nightvision theme.
MPC (Media Player Classic) + codec pack. Because that has the highest compatibility and support for everything. Currently one of the only 2 combos that can correctly playback MKV ordered chapters.

Generally, MPC for all the video files, and for simple audio files, I just use WMP. Yeah yeah WMP is not the best thing in the world, but hey, to play an MP3 file with, it works good enough.
Yeah, there's a plugin for Winamp controls on the taskbar (but why use them when you have global hotkeys???).

because im using a laptop and secondly its a macbook

hotkeys don't really work well and i can't find my apple remote
I use Windows Media Player for music, and VLC for video (VLC works for music as well).
Music: Foobar and (to a less extent) Winamp/ iTunes (for syncing iPod)
Video: GOMPlayer
windows media player or GOMplayer.
Used to use cretive media source.
winamp for audio
GOM for video (+klite mega codec pack)
