Well its Christmas and my mom agreed to buy a part for my computer. I'm deciding on upgrading my memory since I'm getting a hard drive from my cousin.

Now I know some of the things about what's already in there. I just don't know which one to choose on newegg. Can someone point me out in the right direction? I want to max the memory out (2GB total, 1GB each bank).

EDIT: I did a search for this... Am I heading in the right direction? By the way, does dual channel sticks work on single channel ones?

Although probably too late, the motherboard needs to support dual channel for the RAM to go into dual channel mode.  Otherwise the RAM will work fine, but you won't get dual channel.

Would suggest getting 400MHz RAM instead of 333MHz (speeds don't have to be the same) - just take out your current 2x256MB sticks.

Anyway, you might get cheaper prices now that this is after Christmas...
