As no doubt you will have become aware (if you were not) that Android is based on Linux. That means its scope and power is practically limitless, not being restrained by cost. Plus, its customizability and application development are as vast as Linux itself. Those into coding will be interested to know that Andorid libraries are C/C++ while most apps are Java... this means that practically anyone can write a application for Android...
