Ive been having constant internet problems now for a few days and it finally died dead and would not give me an ip from my cable modem today. So i call up comcrap talk to them and he says my signal is very low and a tech willb e out monday to look.
Skrew that...In the past i have used a usb wifi to connect to a wireless, then use internet connectio sharing to spit it out to a switch...well now that I am older and have accumulated more parts, i found my old room mates Linksys WRT54G and i got some info fromthe internet that said the DDRT v24 custom firmware has an option for Repeater/Bridge mode :O Turn that on, configure the BSSID to match the open neighbors, now EVERYONE in the house can has new internets through the 4 onboard ethernet ports AND from the repeated wireless signal :)
Well after i got that setup, of course my home internet started working again so i undid that...but that's way better than sharing via windows!
So now i have that hacked wrt54g up in the brother-in-laws room connected to my wifi and plugged into the xbox 1 that i softmodded for him and now he can see the weather, stream all my music library, watch my tv and movie repository..its damn sweet!
Anyhoo..for the $50 a wrt54g can cost you, you can have some real good fun with it :P
Now i have one belkin wifi router feeding fromteh cable modem, one that is running the ddrt-psp software for xlink kai, and one for repeating :D Can anyone say 802.11Cancer in the head?
yeah saturday fun times :D
