Wee are doing web pages at college, and i really don't have a clue

Our lecturer told us to put the entire page in a div and center that, but either im doing that wrong, so it doesn't work....either way, is the a way to get this to work, or another method that will let me center my page
try going to w3school.org and they have everything you need
If it's just centering a <div>, this will do it:

HTML Code
<div style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;">
...
</div>

You may have to specify widths.  Alternatively, the <center> tag does wonders, though it isn't XHTML strict standard (does it matter though?).

HTML Code
<div align=center> me </div>

Hmmm

just centering the topic title says [HTML] Hmmm<p align="center"></p>or just plain old <center></center>
(hate how its spelt.. should be centre)

hey americans made it, get over it!
why did they spell it wrong then -.-
Oh!  But there's more!
"center" (centre)
"color" (colour)
"gray" (grey)

!!

At least (most of us at least) have English as one's first language.  I'd hate to learn programming if I sucked at English... >_>
