It feels like a ga-zillion internet years since I last posted or commented here. I have been periodically visiting the site, but have not had the chance to actually post or go through and catch up on what has been happening.
Most of it has to do with two reasons:

1: I have a marketing job and my manager loves me (me being my work… just clearing things… >_>) so he insists on me being there for all client meets and all. So because of that I’m hardly present on my desk! Add to the equation, the lack of a wifi phone, no laptop (have ordered a Studio 15 with montevina platform… should have arrived a week back.. but…) overkill pricing of GPRS internet and the summation of that is that I have little internet time while in office.

2: Dell has decided not to deliver my Studio 15 on time so I’m stuck without a computer while I am at home. I have decided not to invest money a new processor (AMD) as I intend to buy the Core i7 when they are released here and buying a processor now would be a waste of resources (as my mobo is already crapped due to reasons beyond my comprehension).

Anyhow.. work is pretty enjoyable and am enjoying so really speaking, my addiction to the Void is getting cured. However what I miss the most, is that I no longer Photoshop. Although I got the admin to grant me admin rites for my workstation, I can’t be seen using Photoshop here as people are pretty uncomfortable due to all the lay-offs!

Well, just an update about me, for those who want to know. Those who didn’t care, still, now you know! HAHA!! Hiding_something

Keeping fingers crossed to get my lappy by this weekend!!

Marketing job sounds cool - what do you actually do?  Organise promotional campaigns?

This marketing is not something that you see with Pepsi or stuff. No promotional campaigns (sadly). I'm into the B2B domain (i.e. Business to Business service). So essentially, I deal with the top management of various companies and offer them services of my company and then sign a contract with them, take my cut and splurge!

thanks all!
ok

My company offers services in IT consulting, CMMI consulting, Software development and outsourcing, as well as developing business level management applications.

Boring stuff.
So I guess they approach you with their needs and you liase with internal staff, or do stuff like determine pricing for things?
