metalgear08 Wrote:A PSP and 8GB memstick for $180? You're getting ripped off, my friend. A PSP plus a real 8GB memstick will easily cost more than the 8GB touch.

Also, like Grrl said, it's not marketed as a game device, it's marketed as a multimedia device, whereas the PSP is mainly focused on games, with movies and music as an aside.

Believe me; its cheaper. Even if you buy the memory stick from a store it WILL still be cheaper (but ive bought many memsticks online and i never had a single problem with all of them)

metalgear08 Wrote:Also, the iPod Touch screen doesn't ghost like a motherfucker.

personally ghosting never really happened much with me (actually; it only happened in GTA when it was really cold outside) and even when its an action scene, i really doubt you can see much that goes on anyway. But if such an issue is really prominent throughout your viewing experience, i guess it would be a good idea to consider an ipod touch (or then again another video player)

i swear to god, why do people keep saying this all the time? (no offense to anyone by the way)

it doesn't matter if its branded as a multimedia device, and i think i said this already

this comparison is what wee call "A bang for a buck" it doesn't matter if the thing is branded as a multimedia device; wee are comparing the CAPABILITY and what it CAN DO for your MONEY. Next thing im going to hear is someone excusing their 300$ phone over an iPhone because it "wasn't made for multimedia" Nana-o Sigh

Games like a Grrl Wrote:Ehh, as to that last comment, I went by you saying the touch was a worthless device, I think you can see how I got to that conclusion.

oh i knew you were just making a mistake with my wording; it happens with everybody. :)

Games like a Grrl Wrote:  The rest of it, ok, valid argumrnts on both sides.  I really never knew the psp could do anything with flash.  Thing about the touch, I can carry a bunch of music, movies and tv shows with me and easilly slip it in mah pocket, the psp is too big for me to carry around wherever I go.  I just really like the form of it.
As for mass storage, canlt remember off-hand, its been a few months, I'll dig around, see if I can find it again.

and if you don't like the form and weight of the psp, i would totally consider a touch and there's nothing wrong with that :P

and thanks for understanding Peace
Haven't had ghosting issues on the PSP - sure it's not encoding issues?
Possible for me, but I still use the 3gp encoder that you posted way back in the day, never bothered looking fer something better.  Been using my ipod classic recently, though.

I recall older firmwares required specific framerates.  I don't think the requirement is there anymore.  Compensating for certain framerates will introduce ghosting/motion blur due to frame blending/blurring.  I've always used PMP which doesn't require a specific framerate anyway, so I've never had blurring issues :P
Hmm, never looked at pmp.  Still, can't get away with watching vids on mah psp at work the way I can with mah ipod, that's the main reason I stick with it.
