Why use Wippien instead of hamachi?
Hamachi is good. But there's not a lot of players online grouped in one Room. I read that free hamachi room supports up to 16 players and premium supports 50 players. Well wippien can support up to 200 players in one room.  In addition to that, it auto kicks offline people.  I'm sure a lot of people faced the problem of Hamachi Networks being full when there's like 5 players online in it and the rest are offline. In wippien you won't get this problem the room will support 200 ONLINE players.  I don't think it's that easy to do this cap of 200 players online at the same time in one room.  Sometimes i join hamachi network and it's like ghost network.  The network got a lot of offline players only.

Wippien isn't 100% perfect.  There can be bugs or other issues.  If you don't want to deal with some problems configuring and the bugs that you find. I'm not saying everyone will have problems. (i personally configured it the first time just by using google). Then just give up on wippien if you still think Hamachi is better for you.  But you should know Wippien is a freeware!  The developers don't get paid to make it work unlike Hamachi! The developers still try and update wippien to make it work on most system correctly without much hassle!  You can read yourself on their forums.  Either way I'll try to help those who want to try Wippien.  Oh and I'm not the smartest guy ever.  There's a lot of things i don't know.  I learn everyday so if there's any mistake in the configurations or additions let me know.



SETUP

What you will Need:

• Windows: XP/Vista32/Vista64/7
  
• GTA IV
  
• Patch 1.0.4.0
  
• Wippien
  
• Wippien Registry Fix
  
• 30 ms limit ping fix
  

1. Patch GTA IV to 1.0.4.0 with the patch provided in the above link if you haven't already.
   
   
2. Install Wippien and register for an Account if you haven't already. Preferably use Your Username@wippien.com because i had some issues with gmail. (The Old Stuff Spoiler Explains that part already).  You can add me to friendlist too.  Dupain@wippien.com
   Note:
   64 bit windows users must install the adapter driver seperately at this link
   Go in Control Panel and use the Add Hardware button. Choose install the driver manually(Advanced). Choose Show all Device and click next.  Click Have Disk and choose the OemWin2k.inf file. You must extract all the content of the zip file in one directory for it to work.  Confirm the warning message if there's one.  32 bit users don't have to do that the installer installs the driver automatically.
   
   
3. Vista Users also will have to go in the properties of the Wippien adapter and Uncheck IPv6 protocol.

4. Download the Wippien Registry Fix and extract both file somewhere safe.  It contains Registry to both install the Fix and Uninstall it.  Use [On] to install it and [Off] To Remove it.  This is used to make GTA IV use the Wippien Adapter instead of your Local Area Network. After using [On] you can launch GTA IV and press "Home" to see if Live says Wippien(registry override).  The Bottom Pictures show it.

5. Now Normally you can already play but usually if you play with people from other countries the chances you get a low ping with them is low and Game For Windows Live LAN mode has a ping limit of 30 ms. That is if your ping with the server is more than than you won't be able to join.  Then here comes this fix made by tecknogods. Download the link above "30 ms limit ping fix" Copy the TecknoGods.dll in the GTA IV folder and follow the instruction in the ReadMe for your operating system. Post here if you have any issues.
   
   
6. Once you done installed everything you are ready to play.  When in lobby Press CTRL+F12 before you double click to join the server and right after you see it successfully connected press CTRL+F12 again.  This avoids the game crashing and somewhat(my experience) allow you to connect if it ever says "Unable to Join" on the try without pressing CTRL+F12. You just need to find a player on wippien.  I created a Chat Room in Wippien called GrandTheftAuto4. Join it.  
   
   

Addtional Notes:
When you talk in chat rooms there may be a bug.  I have it myself.  You type but you don't see what you type. Others see so no need to sPa/\/\.  If you talked and didn't see your message and I'm online in the chat room i will see your message.  I will maybe make a video of me playing online in wippien to try and bring more players in the room soon.  Until then feel free to join the room.  More players make it more fun. Also if you use mods then use it in Free Roam.  It would just ruin a death match or race if you used it there.  Oh and this guide was made in a rush so i might be missing something here and there. Any problems just post.

Found Issue:

Similar problems found on hamachi which is why i wanted to switch to wippien.  I think(Not confirmed) GTA IV uses the Ring topology meaning if there's many players and all of them don't have a connection to each other, it breaks the network.  One person who tries to join kicks the other person who is online in the game or the person just can't join at all.  A friend had a conflict with his local area network.  He joined two computers in LAN and both have wippien and same internet connection.   When one of us who is not in their LAN and connecting through wippien it causes the kick of his other friend in his LAN or just the wippien user can't connect at all.  I'll try to find a way to make it work.  It should be possible because i actually joined both of them once without kicking anyone.

lol yeah it works for nfsu2 and probably for most wanted too. i didn't try but if nfsu2 works then most wanted should work too!

OK I've had to deal with this poo poo with these softwares before.

I can only tell you what I did with HAMACHI and hope that it'll work for you.

Most of the time it's a Listen Port problem - 1 of two things... 1) Router, ensure the port the application is using is open, both TCP and UDP. 2) Firewall, make sure your firewall isn't what is blocking your friends from connecting to your computer, ensure the correct rules are applied to 3 things, the Application, the Virtual Network Adapter and the actual Adapter you are using with the internet.

You will most likely have better luck just temporarily disabling your Firewall and re-enabling it after playing; of course you can use this method to see if it IS your Router that is blocking things off.

I don`t have router! I`m using modem to connect to the internet! I`m not a dumass about computers! I turn off my KIS (kaspersky internet security) and turn off firewall to! even I open a port 9442 for NFS Most Wanted! I search in forums but nothing can help me! :( I`m begging for help!
