So with Remote desktop, you are able to run programs on the PC your using from the PC your viewing?  if you understand what im saying?

yes, but the pc being controlled needs to be logged in to the remote desktop thing each time, you can't just leave it on then use whenever you want.
you could also setup a VPN..



VNC will allow you to fully control the remote PC from your pc. However, that pc will always have to be logged on and connected to the network. using a VPN, you will ensure a secure network, virtually hacker proof, if properly secured.

You will NOT be able to reconnect to the remote desktop after a reboot, unless it auto logs in (i.e only one user without password) and auto connects to the network. however, the remote desktop will need admin password.

yep .. your using your home pc to control the remote pc :D

VPN for security ... remote desktop works with hamachi :P

Unlike VNC, many of the paid tools like TurboMeeting and GoSupportNow do not require the remote user to be logged in, and they automatically reconnect when a computer is rebooted.
