Sony is just new into the dSLR scene and IMO it's best to stick with brands that are more experienced in the field.

I would never say I would ever go for a Nikon. Nikons are good I just prefer the IQ of Canons. Also I like the selection of lenses on the Canon side better.

But in terms of everything except price the Canon 5dmk2 trumps the d90.
Also in movie mode you have to go manual focus. Yes Nikon came out with the Video mode first but Canons looks very promising.

Though Sony does have the great lens maker Carl Zeiss on their hands.
But they are now coming out with a line with a canon mount so I am happy!

If I had spare 2700 I would prolly get the 5d mk1 and get a couple of good primes because I don't really need video mode.
