i was browsing around instructables when i came up with the idea of wikipedia on your psp. There are HTML dumps of Wikipedia available for download. place them on your ms and browse to them with the web browser. the only small(ish) problem is size. the complete html dump of en.wikipedia.org decompressed is roughly 29gb. until 32gb memsticks are cheap enough for the average joe (or Rob in my case) its a bit of a dead end idea...
Umm why can't u just use the psp browser and wireless?
My idea: Ubiquity on the PSP.
I thought of this a long time ago...
It was the whole think where they turned some pocket device into a portable wikipedia...
but the wifi and such seems better.
It might be interesting do download and read it in spare time though
Interesting idea, though one of the things about Wiki is that it's constantly updated. Otherwise maybe someone would make a portable version of Encarta... (unlikely)
Oh, and you could probably keep the files compressed.
Also, wikipedia is constantly user changed, so how would you get an "accurate" wikipedia version? I consistently find myself reading wikipedia articles and seeing blatantly opinionated or inaccurate statements that I have to change. I wonder when, in its history, wikipedia was at its highest % of accuracy? A random, unobtainable number, I know, but still that is the kind of stuff I wonder from time to time.
I always hate when people say not to use wikipedia.
any yahoo could make a webpage full of false information just as easily.

Which is one reason you aren't supposed to use regular websites when citing for research papers and such. And that's also why I take everything I read on random sites with a grain of salt. I look for cites most of the time, and go straight to the original source if it interests me.
