I decided to make a poll but I wasn't sure what to put after awhile
I still think programming is going a bit far. I'll admit that there's more of a response to it than I had expected, but I think at present, it's probably a bit difficult.
Though I've thought about Game Maker and it's probably a little tricky too, mainly how it sticks everything into one large file (wee'd have to share it around which would be a pain). Anyone know of a system which allows multiple files instead?
From what I've seen, a shooter and an RPG seem to be the most popular genres. What about both? :P

Like what the programmers do... use an svn repository?
SVN/CVS. They typically suck with binary data - they work much better with textual content (ie code).
Hmm I've worked with Game Maker a while back. just messing with the collisions and stuff like that, no coding. i still have my game maker files actually if you want to look at them.
ZiNgA BuRgA Wrote:Well I haven't really started any group projects, so I thought why not give it a shot?
Basically, the plan will be to get everyone together and make a game using Game Maker (or some other "easy game maker" type application) and see how things turn out.
You don't really need to commit to anything - as long as wee have people helping out it should be good.
Why not use a "proper" programming language? Cause using one of these "easy game makers" will make it easy(er) for everyone to contribute, doesn't require a lot of programming effort and should be much faster to make things with.
So far, is anyone interested on such a project?
I will be happy to make you any 3D meshes you might need,
just give me photo's of what you want, front, back, & side,
& let me know if you have any laments, as far as polly count does ..

Should the rpg have people with guns or should the shooter have rpg attributes?

Although by shoot they might mean first person shooter not shump but I couldn't help but post it anyway.
Rage Fighter Wrote:Firstly, you may notice I've included a bit of RPG in this game, due to 'Experience Levels'. For every enemy plane you shoot down, you gain experience, so it's not like those other shoot-em-ups where you can hide in a corner and finish the level. When you gain a level, your ship moves faster, your mana regenerates faster and you take less damage from enemies. Another RPG feature I've added to the game is mana. Most items you use will have a mana cost. Your mana also automatically regenerates.
Alright, added a poll - let's see what people want.
