Yeah people used to believe and I actually support them.
If someone can explain this I will gladly abandon all "stupid" thought supporting this method.
okay I notice this without my glasses.
If I look at an object 12 inches from my face it is perfectly clear.
But if I look at an object in a mirror 12 inches from my face depending on how far the object is it is distorted.
(people who don't need glasses can probably observe this by using an object with writing that they can read from far away)
Now if I take out my cell and hold it 4 inches from my face. While using the camera function to show me the object I can see it perfectly clear.
So if light truly is reflecting off the mirror (meaning that the light is coming from 12 inches in front of my face) why would it be any more distorted than the actual object when I look at it?
When I look at something 12 inches away (meaning that the light is coming from 12 inches in front of my face) why isn't there distortion?
Therefore, I propose that the distortion is actually caused from my eye bending my line of sight. That would seem to make sense since the trail would distort and keep distorting (even as it reflects of objects) the farther it gets from my eye.
I don't know.
