the Anime list on anime-planet is back up
I'm not using it until signatures are back up. It only gets more hectic after that.

Pfft.

Until Anime Planet figures out how to add anime to your list automatically, I will stay with AniDB, the original.

...I don't want it to automatically add poo poo that I haven't okayed or agreed that I want to watch.

I'd rather look in the similar anime list and pick what I like.

I'll have to agree there...

... but AOM is extremely useful for tidying up the filenames that can usually come with underscores n spoon... I got all my files renamed automatically Madwin

Huh.

IT automatically adds the files YOU WATCHED.

Why the heck would it add random files you've never heard of O_o

Anime-Planet maybe nice for the casual watchers like you guys, but when you get into the higher amount of watching you'll see it's a hassle to check off each episode of each anime you've watched. Where as in AniDB, you drag the file you just watched into a folder on your computer, click start in AOM, and it adds it to your list.

It's also nice that AniDB knows exactly what file you watched too, like if it was the Froth-bite release, the AonE release, the DB release, etc, as AniDB is the official fansub group release database.

If you need it, AniDB links directly to Anime-Planet to get recommendations.

Bottom line/TL:dr version: Anime-Planet is great for recommendations, but AniDB is much better as a list builder. But looking at the tiny amount of series that have been watched here, it probably wouldn't make a difference for you guys. The only one would find it more efficient is probably SS.
