no I'm not ditching homebrew for the official firmwares, my sister is. i orignally hacked her PSP Phat a while ago, so that she could do the obvious stuff, play downloaded .iso files etc, but now she's sick of it, it keeps stuffing up so now she just wants to get to the latest Official Firmware. Please don't try to convince me not to do it for her, just help me out :P
Here's my problem:
As in the thread title, her PSP is currently running 3.03 OE-C. So i tried the usual stuff to get to the latest firmware. first i formatted the memory stick, then restored the default settings.
I then tried just putting the 4.05 Update in PSP>GAME>UPDATE and running it, all i got was a black screen
Silly Me
Then i came to my senses and realised i couldn't do that.
So then i did the proper method and got the 1.50 Eboot, and put it in PSP>GAME>RECOVERY under the name EBOOT.PBP. So i went into the recovery menu and clicked on "Run Program from PSP>GAME>RECOVERY>EBOOT.PBP". All i get is a black screen, then the PSP shuts off. Don't worry, it didn't brick, because everytime it happened, i could still load up the PSP normally. Since it wasn't working, i tried something that probably wouldn't make a difference, and changed between running that in 3.03 Kernal and 1.50 Kernal. it made no difference :(
so can anybody see what is going wrong?
