Later on, only because it supposedly falls into the "Rock" genre I'm going to listen to Linkin Park's latest effort, "A Thousand Suns".
Wish me luck.
Oh, and Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures - 9/10
Heads up - I'm enjoyin Filter's "Anthems for the Damned" a whole lot more than the new Stone Temple Pilots effort...

Nice - can't agree with you more. STP are there, but the songwriting needs to be kicked up a notch to get anywhere near No.4, let alone Core and Purple.
I'm gonna drop this as a personal recommendation to you Sensei, since i know you'll try anything, and as well to anyone whos willing to listen to music outside of their scope, unless your scope is prog metal, in which case its inside i guess :P
Check out Seventh Wonder. I've just finished The Great Escape, their newest album, and far and away the best album of 2010, and probably the next 12 months to come as well, as well as Mercy Falls, their previous album, also in another league compared to anything else on the market. Its prog metal, but real prog metal, its above and beyond anything ive previously heard
Also, how was Linkin Parks Album?? Im tempted to listen myself, but i just know its going to be a disaster in the back of my mind, so i refuse to. I prefer to remember them fondly from the past

I listened to "Alley Cat" and I'm having the same problem I did with Dream Theater. Excellent musicians with lackluster vocals. It's why I've always preferred Liquid Tension Experiment - they are better off without needless vocals.
If there have to be vocals, they have to be as exceptional as the other instruments in the band.. and there are very few, if any that pull that off.
Eluvitie got the right mix..... but it's a shot in the foot for Seventh Wonder I feel. Amazing musicians though, like I said.

Didn't listen to it. Hah. I've heard a track off it on FIFA 11 and I listened to The Catalyst (main single) a few times and I can tell it's positively awful. Don't bother.

As much as I'm subconsciously sure your right, i urge you to try Welcome to Mercy Falls, or Fall in Line, before you say that, as they are the tracks that come to mind as the peak of his talent for me, and I'm sad to believe that someone as open minded as you will dismiss this band, even if it is justified....ones heart is never a rational character, and these guys are as close to my heart as anyone is likely to get

Alright, it's unfair to dismiss a band based on an opinion for a single track. I'll give those a go and post again.
Awesome!! And, i agree, epic product code
