so i basically/finally bought myself a modchip and a clip for my wii (so it makes soldering 10 times easier)

So, i bought a D2Pro (the original one, not the 9 wire) and a wii clip V4C from consolesource.com

now, after reading that the wii clip V4C is for the 9 wire (but the picture looked just the same as the V4) i don't know if i just screwed myself over

heres the links

http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catal...-2791.html
http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catal...-2739.html

So, will the modchip i bought still work with this clip????

I seriously need some answers NananaNananaEmptyoneKnock-knock

P.S. Found out that console source has a rating of FRIGGIN 5.4/10, and they don't answer worth poo poo. Im wondering now if ill ever get what i ordered..............
Offtopic: Should have waited, the Wii scene will have a iso/back up loader soon.  Using the Twilight Hack. <3

Sorry, im not much help with the modchips but you could make a thread at http://www.nes-hacks.com/ I know the admin (Not greg, king td) everybody at the site is always willing to help and its a pretty good community.

or see if somebody here knows but I bet you have better luck at nes-hacks ;)
Well you should have done a bit more research and bought the d2pro9 instead but the good news is ur not screwed :) All you have to do is buy an spi addon. You solder the spi flash on, then solder the chip to the wii-clip. You can find which points to solder on either the d2pro website or maybe the wii-clip website for pictures. Also you will need a programmer to update the firmware of the chip to the latest 9-wire firmware.

So you need to find these things:
Programmer - http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/D2Pr...p-115.html
SPI Flash - http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/D2Pr...p-116.html

You don't have to buy from that site of course. I'm just showing you what they look like. Idk if I have seen any other site selling the spi separately except that though.

Oh by the way I'm pretty sure you would have to do this b/c the wii-clip doesn't have as many points for the 13/15/19 wire. It is specifically only for the 9-wire. Also I have a d2pro9 (with spi already built in) + wii-clip too. It works great!

that's interesting, so what differentiates the D2Pro from the D2Pro V4C is just that little part at the top?

So if i did buy that (and solder it), it would just turn into a 9 wire?

also, do i need the programmer to upgrade it? Shouldn't the normal firmware still work to at least let me upgrade it via dvd? or will it not work at all? (i know WHY i have to use the usb programmer, im just asking IF it can still be upgraded via dvd?)

In either case, you really helped my problem; thanks a lot

@Yoyo: Im going to try posting there; thanks for the advice :)

Yep, the part at the top is used for the spi instead of having extra wires. It would be ready to be a 9 wire when you buy that spi and solder it.

You should still need the programmer. It will have firmware meant only for the d2pro, not the d2pro9. The d2pro9 is the only one that can be upgraded by dvd. You need to at least have v1.1b to have the dvd functionality. So it won't let you upgrade by dvd yet.

Also minimal upgrades are made by dvd the most important ones are made by flashing the chip with the programmer. The latest version out is 2.1 but I'm still on the 1.1b b/c I have had problems with the 2.1 firmware.
