Wee all know that viruses and malware/spyware/trojans/rootkits etc are a a big hassle. Not worth the effort or the tension that they put one through. Security companies reap in money using this cautious nature of ours. After all, who wants to lose out to the virus code writers or spyware developers and sacrifice personal information or private and valuable data to them or to crashes/ corruption etc.

Now matter how good a AV software be, the fact will remain that they work on the basis of a principle established over 20 years ago. The principle of Pattern matching. New gen viruses are being developed that simply bypass this approach and still infect the PCs. In fact that is how the Companies remain in business. New gen AV suites will work on "whitelisting" files that are known to be good, effectively rendering pattern matching a thing of the past. But as you can imagine, this database would be far larger than the blacklisted malicious programs. Companies like TrendMicro and Symantec are working on a In-real-time-on-demand system that works like taking a file from a file server. essentially users will have zero database on the PC but will refer to the Cloud of database on the main storage servers. This is a logical albeit an effectively slow process.

Solutions are devised by big companies charging big money. But if the viruses die, so do these companies. So they will never look at a way to completely eliminate this problem. Too much money involved.

However, a small time company known just as UberSoft has devised a solution that effectively solves the problem of Viruses, once and for all. Read an extract from their helpdesk.
