TrustedReviews Wrote:The satellite navigation market is undeniably overcrowded and under threat from GPS and A-GPS equipped mobile phones so manufacturers are desperately searching for differentiators, not matter how nutty...
Part madness, part brilliance is Mio's decision to launch a Knight Rider branded, KITT voiced GPS unit with dual swishing LEDs* and a start up message that says "Hello Michael, where do you want to go today?" (I know, the kid in you is screaming with joy right now)
While the logo suggests this is old school inspired (rather than the tacky 2008 remake) little else has been revealed about this Hasslehoffian shrine. Educated guesses point to a 4.3in widescreen display and the usual touchscreen interface, speed camera guide, smart re-routing and some form of multimedia playback, but wee'll have to wait for Mio to get official to know the real deal.
Surprisingly for a device with so little detail, a $299 price has been thrown up so I can only presume it'll be here sooner rather than later. Michael Knight fantasies then may be just around the corner, but remember to try and drive more akin to The Hoff of the 1980s than the one wee see today...
