also it stopped happenin now wen i changed the appearance from graphite to original but it happens in both cause it was like that wen i first booted my computer last week!!! ima contact dell tech 2moro.... they closed an hour ago :(

aand ya i have AVG pro but my computer was like this the day i booted it up first :(

when you ring em, tell them that your a graphics designer and the problem occurs in random areas on the screen so its affecting your work. if you don't make up a good enough reason theyll just hassle ya.

Edit: i don't think its a virus, just a faulty card, it may just be a tiny little fault and so the glitch appears randomly and windows hasn't picked it up, id still annoy dell about it though, im guessing you got an xps so you must have payed quite a bit looking at the rating vista give ya.

Sorry, I have worked on too many dells, and have grown a very big dislike for them.

also idk y but my sound occasionally skips (like a cd would) could a faulty graphics card be causin that???
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH last computer wee got off dell 3 years ago and never had a problem and now this in under a week :(:(

im reinstallin the graphics drivers 2 c if that wrks... probably not :(

good luck with dell tech 'support'. hopefuly they'll be a little better than Sony whne my mp3 player started misbehaving. I've since fixed the problem with a bit of free software that i got from google labs.

i think reinstallin the drivers fixed it, and the sound issue... weird dell can't even install drivers propperly!!! dumbasses!
