As admin run regedit search for awtuUMgf.dll and remove any and all entries you find.

Make a backup 1st though. It's most likely a failed install of some kind that finishes after a reboot, most installers will name their files strange in a temp folder, or it's a virus unknown you your A/V application. (I hope not)

i had a problem like this on xp. it was a virus that would try and excecute a ranomly named dll (randomly named to try and avoid detection by the virus guard). after running ccleaner to get rid of the dll the virus could no longer excecute it, so it would give that message. it may be something similar with you. if you want a simple solution, fudge vista and upgrade to xp.

Besides you said you had the problem with XP too, so how will that fix anything?
because i was stupid and instaled a copy of QT pro that i knew was infected hoping to clean it up afterwards. i know, FAIL...

anyway, problem is fixed now.
