I'm looking for a job, i found one, but my parents don't want me to work at this place (place 1, amsuement park) cause it's somewhat of a far drive, and i drive an old truck (1990 chevy, still runs great). so they want me to apply at this local grocery store (place 2), but i really, really, don't want to work there.
I've worked at place 1 before, i know a lot of people there, and i know what to do and how to do it well.
Place 2 however I've never even considered working at, and one of my "friends" works there. he's one of those friends that you hang out with cause you either have nothing else to do or he/she has no friends. This ends up with them being clingy. I don't really like him, and i try to avoid him.
My parents are pushing and pushing me to get the job at place 2. I'm on the verge of totally telling them off.
Their reasons for wanting me to get the other job is money. Not that it offers a higher pay, but taht it's a significantly shorter drive. they claim to know a manager there, but that was 10-8 years ago, and things change.
what should i do?
(in this case, certain actions usually frowned upon may be better than ethically good ones)
