Finished the series a while ago, but only recently finished the movie.
Didn't like the movie as much as the series (synching the past events with present is an interesting idea, however, they don't really say what the link is). I think the movie was an attempt to make the story a little more dramatic... (I liked the effects though - they looked nice)
What did you think of the ending to the series? I think the last scene is the two main characters revived. As for the thing before, I thought the "goal" idea was rather corny (double you tee eff? "you be my goal"), but an interesting pessimistic ending (though if they do revive, then maybe not so pessimistic).
Some other hard to explain things, such as when Yukito gets slashed by a sword in the back (some reference to the past? or because he's not allowed to stay close to Misuzu? fairly vague...)
I liked how it uses ideas from comedy/romance animes (ie ≥3 girls after the guy), however it doesn't go that direction (probably there to attract guys).
Otherwise, it's an interesting plotline, and was laid out well IMO.
Anyone manage to capture any second meanings? I had a constant feeling, whilst watching it, that there was one. Primarily, "wings" seems to symbolise something. Dunno what though. Typically wings=freedom, however, it seems to have a counter-meaning in Air (more like the problem of social norms; for example, wings=privileged » under-privileged are jealous, so they go against the privilege).
Otherwise, I can't think of much else content-wise.

Cool, I probably spoiled the plot for you XD

Didn't read anything you wrote, besides for like the 1st line. :P
I knew reading it would spoil my story.
...I haven't watched the movie but I think I liked most of the story.
The only thing I disliked was that the guy turned into a crow, and that he had to turn into a crow to save the girl. Well I don't know if anyone noticed, but he was a crow and she still didn't get anymore saved. I though the couple on the beach was them. I figured it was too conveniently done for it not to relate to the story. I also thought the wings probably meant something but I could really figure it out. I wonder if it has something to do with them giving a piece of the wing (the feather) back to whoever they were giving it too.
Also when they showed the story the first time, was the crow really there (I'm too lazy to check)? Like did anybody check in episode to see if Sora was actually drawn in the scene? I was also wondering if this meant that they weren't necessarily in the same world or time but perhaps far into the future after the chain of evolution repeated itself. I don't really know.
Going to back to the wings thing I also wonder why the monks would use a binding spell on an allegedly innocent girl. I also can't help but wonder where the "disease" actually came from.
Some of my questions were probably answered but due the fact that my brain seems to be falling apart I think I forgot.

they are talking about the anime it seems... mentioning movies and all that...

She got saved - the "curse" or "spell" (or whatever) was lifted, which is why they could both revive at the end.
She managed to go to the beach, and she managed to reach the goal - none of which occurred in previous generations (implied).

The crow was there in some scenes, but not always there (from memory).

Yeah, it's the "different world" type thing.

Magic/sorcery existed in the past, but was forgotten (wonder why) as time passed (except for that woman's descendants).
The winged race were hunted, so explains the spell, though why they wanted to continually torture her wasn't explained (or I don't get it).
That's what I think.

I see what you're saying.

I mean all those "stars" (I think that's what they called that girl) had feathers and when they left or got finished with what they had to do the feather disappeared or disintegrated.

I was talking about the disease they were talking about in the beginning where all those people just started dying in that kids village.

Probably from the cursed feather?
