Why is it not possible to write an entirely new fw or OS for the PSP? I saw the pics (sadly I can't find them, but I think they are available in the forum..) of a PSP with a weird bootup, indicating a new fw. though that never came to lite and I never heard a word about it afterwords...
My question is that by now, every component of the psp has been identified and can be hacked. Wee find the loopholes in the fw to allow mods and hacks. So lets say the original SCE FW is Windows, all the DAX and GEN and other releases are like the Black releases, the Tiny releases, in terms of Windows... I hope you follow...
If that is done, then why can't wee develop an entirely different fw or an OS for the PSP? What is the reason behind lack of this mother of all mods? Say something like Linux for the PCs etc... having a new fw, (in actual terms Custom fw, not just modified fw) that enables the users to have a entirely different experience..
lack of RAM, if that is the reason you state, can't justify it as if SCE can do it, so can others! Surely a fw can be developd that uses the resources more efficiently.. PSP has been around for over 4 years now (right?) then has anyone attempted this? if yes, why hasn't it been developed? If no, then why not"?
