Well, I was at school today and the computer I use in computer class at lacks sound. The one I used to use had sound, but it got taken over by some biatch. Anyways, found the driver but I can't get it to install. So I was wondering if there was some possible way to do a complete manual install. I want sound real badly, and my movies aren't going to wait any longer :(

happened to me while fixing a friends pc. use cpu-z to ensure the motherboard type, google drivers for that mobo, )uninstall the currently installed drivers from safe mode) and install the driver from devmgmt (the usual manual way..) a good chance that the drivers will be available as exe files, that self-installs the drivers!
Yeah. I know how to do that. But the thing is that the driver I'm trying to install isn't installed, and I can't run it under the admin account. (It lost its privileges since January. :( )
Generally, you'll require admin accounts try install privileged applications such as drivers...
Oh. Sucks then. :-( Thank God I only have 4 more days left for classes before exams.. :(

admin account is default. You can't change its privileges!
in any case, create a new user account by right clicking My Computer -» Manage-» User-» right click , new user. After the User is created, right click it-» Properties-» Member of and add administrators. That account is now full admin.
(you can of course do this through Control Panel, but this is a fail safe method. Plus it allows you to modify permissions. You can also verify you admin accounts permissions from here.)
Ugh. Tried that, and it gave me an error -Access Denied. Fudge.. Only if I could crack the other admin password..
there are ways to crack that! google!
If you can intercept the boot order (ie get the comp to boot from a CD), it can be done. Otherwise, it's rather tricky (unless they're stupid enough to give you Power User access).
