Good, photofilters and gradient maps are not always necessary to make great sigs, but they
do add a little something to the sig. Try working with curves and exposure layers. And if you're going to make an overlayed layer to show something else like in the left of your sig, lower it's opacity more so it doesn't take focus away from the main focal point.
