For many months I have been Wii-less and with smash brawl on my doorstep

i can't take the thought of having the game although i don't have a wii( yes i bought the game before the wii)

so finally I've managed to "borrow" a wii from my cousin, and only to find out that

it was japanese!!Nana-o.  Although it was jap, that i found out that the japanese wii can play certain games such as FIFA, and Warioware Smooth moves, but can't play brawl, does anyone think the Wii is just outdated?( it hasn't been getting the recent wii updates).

Additionaly if it is just outdated, would i be able to play brawl if i succesfully update?

So can anyone help a poor Brawl starved fellow out? Anyone know how to update a japanese Wii, or understand Japanese?, or even give a tutorial on how to update a  jap wii?

Help will be Appreciated!!

oh yeah i forgot to mention, i tried comparing the update menu of the jap wii with the english version, but the japanese' version is  kinda completely different so, that method didn't work or maybe im not doing it right.
Yeah it probably just needs updated like you said, but! what region is your SSB disk????  May not play in  jap wii if different region.

But it won't hurt to update it anyways

Yeah wee tested it out in my house.

When wee place the brawl game into the Japanese Wii it starts to read the disk but never shows up, instead it shows a question mark (?).

Oh and when wee try going to the settings menu it don't work.
Some opera spoon pops up.
cool! tnx for the video link yoyo!!, although diego is right, when wee click update

some opera thing appears, and doesn't let me update!!
oh i was going to say "isn't the wii region free? why didn't you just buy one in your region" but after reading that...

you'll need to get a japanese game... to update.
