Ok, I started on this theme and i have made icons about the size of 134kb each in size and when I put it into rcoeditor and took out all remaining icons except the main ones, the topmenu_icon.rco came out to be about 78 kb and when compressed to about 72kb, can anyone of the xmb creators here help me out because the icons are disappearing(2 to be exacte, the game and network settings

i have no idea what your on about the title confuses me cause whast you are saying also doesn't explain anything
all your saying is tghat you ading some icons to tyopmenu and compressed it

this is usally because you have used up all the allocated xmb ram so this cause the network icons not to load or get weird boxes
try dummying icons and shadows in system.rco and system_plugin_fg.rco and making your icons smaller
the only icons that are in the topmenu_icon is the 5 main icons everything else is blank

yeah but they sound huge in pixel count...you need to remove alot of shadows and glows for other files other than topmenu only.
look at the files in my theme..there is TONS of things dumied out...
the other option is to reduce the number of colors int eh main and alpha layers which will eat up precious resources as well
ok i did that on most of them and i got the game icon to show up now the network im tryin to find other files
01-12.bmp
system_plugin.rco
topmenu_icon.rco.
in my experience this three files is related to each other. got to play around with it. (color, size, shadows and glow matters)
